What the petition asks
Implement every recommendation of the Problem Drug Use in Scotland report by the Scottish Affairs Committee. These include:
1. Declare a public health emergency
2. Back the proposed Safe Consumption Facility in Glasgow
3. Decriminalise the possession of small amounts of drugs for personal use
1. Declare a public health emergency

It is essential this is done to tackle the accelerating drugs crisis, not only in Scotland but around the UK. The government must recognise that the proposals made are evidence based, and was based on the advice of people with the lived experience of this crisis: victims, health care workers, criminal justice experts, charity workers and many more. It is unacceptable for the government to have rejected these proposals without sufficient justification.
