Petition · past parliament

Put our own homeless people in hotels instead of illegal immigrants.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

There has been considerable outcry at the decision to put illegal immigrants in hotels at the taxpayers expense. This is wrong when we have our own homeless citizens sleeping rough. British people should come first! We demand illegal immigrants be deported and our own homeless be put up in hotels.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. Illegal immigrants are not entitled to housing, including in hotels.

Under international law, it is legal for a person to apply for asylum in any country that has signed the 1951 Geneva Convention and to remain there until the authorities have assessed their claim.

You could start a new petition asking the UK Government to withdraw from international treaties that give people the right to seek asylum in the UK, if that's what you'd like to happen.
