What the petition asks
Make all bee keeping equipment exempt from V.A.T tax.
This is what the government says about bees.
"Our pollinators face many threats and there are growing concerns that these threats are leading to declines in diversity and the geographical ranges of individual species."
To start bee keeping the cost is around £500 for a single hive and equipment, of which the government get £100 in taxes. Large scale commercial bee keepers can claim back the V.A.T, but hobby bee keepers can't. Stop this tax to encourage more people to keep bees.
