To debate the right for British citizens to bear arms to protect their families

Rejected 11 signatures

What the petition asks

The British people are scared, our government's have over the years allowed our streets to become lawless and overrun with criminal gangs, an invasion of immagrants who have no idea about our values and a police force not fit for purpose.
We need the right to protect ourselves and especially our families from the escalation of violent gangs and criminals freely roaming our streets, every day a new threat to our safety is reported and if the government or police won't protect us we need to protect ourselves.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the UK Government or Parliament to take a specific action. We don't know what you would like a right to bear arms to include, so we're not sure what specific action you want taken.

At the moment, permission to possess or to purchase or acquire a firearm will be granted to an individual who is assessed by the licensing authority, the police, as not posing a threat to public safety and having good reason to own the firearm.

You could start a new petition clearly explaining what you'd like to happen. For example, you could start a new petition asking the UK Government and Parliament to make a specific change to firearm regulations, if that's what you'd like to happen.
