Ban unregulated influencer advertising

Rejected 14 signatures

What the petition asks

Ban celebrity endorsements of diet products.
Implement harmful content banners on social media platforms on such adverts.
Implement an act for diet products, similar to the Tobacco Advertising and Promotion Act 2002.
Implement an age ID check for orders of diet products placed online.
I believe that buying such a product should be an informed choice by an adult. These products should not be advertised and they certainly should not be promoted by celebrities online who have a predominantly have a young audience.
A diet product is not essential, there is no need for this to be advertised or endorsed.
Celebrities and diet companies are profiting off other peoples insecurities and eating disorders.
Products are easily accessed/ordered online by young people in society.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. We don't know whether you would like to see a ban on the advertising of diet products, or regulation of who and how such products are advertised.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
