Petition · past parliament

Do not put the clocks back this October and continue with British Summer Time.

What the petition asks

I would like government to suspend daylight saving this year, ie vote to not put the clocks back in October.
The pandemic second wave is upon us and the mood of the whole country is low. Fewer people are commuting early to work because more are working from home. Without the need to be up early it is more beneficial to have the light in the evening when most of population can enjoy it.
With social distancing measures people will only be able to meet outside, so better lighting will make this easier and more energy efficient.
Light exposure may improve vitamin D levels leading to better immunity.
