Backdate pay of disabled elements of Universal Credit to start of claim

What the petition asks
As a disabled single parent, I was disgusted to find out that the Government does not backdate payments for the three-month waiting period referred to as the "relevant period". That is the time when awaiting an outcome for your assessment eligibility.
The Government seem to be under the impression that during this 3-month waiting period claimants do not require the disabled payment component. Having asked when the owed monies for those 3 months would be paid, I was then informed there was no back payment.
Having been awarded the basic universal credit component during this time, this does not help pay for the additional costs needed, the costs of which the disabled element is meant to pay for. Backdated payment is needed
