Save the Union & abolish the Withdrawal Agreement.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

To legislate to strengthen the Union and to uphold the Acts of Union.
To abolish the Withdrawal Agreement which creates a trade border within the UK & gives succour to Irish & Scottish Nationalists.
BEING CONVINCED in our consciences that the Withdrawal Agreement would be disastrous to the material well-being of Northern Ireland and perilous to the unity of the United Kingdom, we, whose names are underwritten, stand by one another in defending, for ourselves and our children, our cherished position of equal citizenship in the United Kingdom.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

We understand you do not want a customs border between Northern Ireland and the rest of the UK. The UK Government has is already seeking to prevent new barriers to intra-UK trade through the Internal Market Bill, which is currently being considered by Parliament. You can find out more here: https://commonslibrary.parliament.uk/research-briefings/cbp-9003/.

It is therefore not clear what else you would like the Government to do.
