What the petition asks
Students have suffered hugely from the effects of Covid 19 and the government should recognise this by providing the support outlined in the petition. It is immoral for them to be charged such high interest rates when other interest rates have been dramatically reduced.
The government should recognise the hardships endured by students and prospective students over the last 6 months caused by the Covid19 pandemic. Having come through the exams fiasco many freshers and returning students face lockdowns and a diluted student and learning experience. They were encouraged to return and pay fees and exorbitant accommodation costs they should have their needs recognised in the same way that other groups have been supported.
