What the petition asks
Shark liver oil, known as squalene, is regularly used as a key component in flu and flu-like vaccines but plant based alternatives from plants such as sugar cane exist.
Any potential vaccine administered to the population containing squalene should be from plant-based alternatives.

To prevent unnecessary slaughter of potentially 500,000 or more sharks. Most shark species are endangered or critically endangered and we should be working towards getting them more protection not being selfish to use a small part of them for our benefit when there is a simple and renewable alternative. Please find a research paper below which states in its conclusion how many plant based alternatives there are to squalene over animal based
