Do not create offshore asylum centres

What the petition asks
I would like the Government not to place refugees, migrants or asylum-seekers arriving in the UK in offshore centres.
The Government should host arriving refugees, migrants and asylum-seekers on mainland, rather than outsourcing this to locations which are remote and easy to ignore.
Having worked in refugee camps in Europe as well as settlements in Lebanon, I've seen how the structure of some refugee camps can really harm the mental wellbeing of the people kept there.
They need activities, connection, education Psychosocial activities which keep people sane during difficult experiences. Art, sports, classes for English and more.
With remote location, access to services drops. People become ignored by regular society and lost to the system.
