What the petition asks

Financially help the UK cinema industry by giving these businesses a life line. Ensure that cinemas chains do not have to close their doors and face making up to 100,000 people jobless.

The cinema chain Cineworld has announced today (4th of October) that it may have to shut all of the branches.

This is due to the postponement of major movie titles. Because of this cinemas across the nation are struggling to attract an audience. With the closure of this chain of cinemas over 5,500 employees face being made jobless.

Cinemas in total across the UK contributes over 1.2 billion pounds in taxes, and supports 100,000 jobs. Please support these jobs and the cinema industry as a whole.
