No mp pay rises until nurses get a significant pay rise

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

The MP'S latest pay rise should be refused until a significant pay rise is agreed for our nurses.
Our nurses can't survive on claps and well wishes. Pay them what they deserve. We're tired of lip service for our NHS workers while our members of Parliament are happy to take a 3k payrise. These workers are the backbone of our society not you.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

The UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for setting MPs' pay. The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) is responsible for deciding on MPs' expenses and pay. IPSA is independent of both Parliament and Government.

You can find out more about IPSA here: https://www.theipsa.org.uk/about-us/
