What the petition asks
In this current climate supermarket workers are working harder than ever. They are considered as key workers and so they should be rewarded.
By making it law that the starting rate for all supermarket workers is the real Living Wage is a small way that the government can show its support and help them.
As an arts worker who has become a supermarket worker I now see the demands of this job and all it entails, including the workload, dealing with the public, the unsocial hours etc. Let’s show them the respect they deserve.
