What the petition asks
To freeze all MP pay increases and personal expenses until the UK has recovered fully from COVID19 and public service cuts are ceased.
With so many public services on pay freezes it is time for our MP's to step up and lead by example in these most testing of times!
With the country facing a recession and more cuts to public services and the NHS it is now only fair that MP's freeze any pay increases for themselves and other members of the house.
Once cuts to public services have stopped and the NHS is suitably funded, no MP should be claiming for a personal expense (travel or otherwise), nor should they recieve a pay increase.

Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
MPs are not responsible for setting or voting on their own pay and expenses.
The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) is responsible for deciding on MPs' expenses and pay. IPSA is independent of both Parliament and Government.
