Ban political advertising on social media during an election period

What the petition asks
Introduce a law to prohibit political advertising on social media in the run up to national and local elections.
Without full access to social media companies data, it is not possible
to be sure if 'the feed algorithm' is favouring one side or another in timing the delivery of targetted polical advertising.
Political advertising on social is effectively unregulated. With the advent of targetted advertising, delivered through social media platforms it is not possible to know if abuses are taking place or not. The British electorate need to have confidence in our democractic processes.
