What the petition asks
This petition calls for the parliamentary debate on Government planning policy on green spaces, that will have a detrimental effect on local wild life, marine life and natural habitats.
It will protect an established green space that is a natural habitat for many different species of
wildlife, marine life, plants and birds.
wildlife, marine life, plants and birds.
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Local authorities already have powers to protect wild life and designate green areas, and have a public authority duty to have regard to conserving biodiversity.
We could accept a petition calling for local authorities to be given new powers, or have new obligations, but it would need to be clear what changes you want to be made to current arrangements.
