Ecocide, Mayor John Biggs, Tower Hamlets
Rejected

What the petition asks
To curb the powers of elected mayors. Remove from power Mayor John Biggs, usually personal views are not representative. In Tower Hamlets, the continued form of ecocide, with the of the felling of trees, protected, ancient or otherwise, is against the values of The Climate Emergency.
The taking out of a 500 yr old tree, The Bethnal Green Mulberry, raising to wasteland "The Limehouse Triangle" a nature reserve, deemed of special scientific interest. The felling of The Marsh Wall 8, deemed worthy of tree protection. The soon, decimation of Belmont Wharf, an organic community garden with surrounding trees now in danger. The urban environment is precious, therefore should be preserved, should Mayor Biggs continue to ensure that a tree is an obstacle to progress what next.
