Increase the age at which a couple can legally get married to 21

What the petition asks
At present you can get married at 16 years with parental consent, which might allow for young people to be pressured into marriages they do not want to enter into. To reduce the risk of this happening the Government should increase the age at which a couple can legally marry to 21.
A private members bill proposed raising the legal minimum age of marriage to 18 but this is unlikely to become law.
