Require PIP assessors to be health professionals with relevant experience
Closed
170 signatures
What the petition asks
Require that health care professionals conducting assessment interviews have appropriate experience in the condition(s) of the person they are interviewing and, in how to communicate effectively with them.
The current system does not take into consideration the communication difficulties and differences of people with neuro diverse conditions. Without understanding how to interview neuro diverse applicants, assessors cannot submit accurate reports. Neuro-diverse people are, therefore, denied fair access to the service. Assessors need to have relevant experience in the conditions of those they interview.
