Abolish restaurants having to pay VAT on food sales

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

We would like all VAT on food sales only to be abolished, excluding alcohal and soft drinks.
Restaurant owners feel as though we are being taxed unjustly.
We can not claim back VAT on raw ingredients such as meats, seafood, spices, grains, flour and vegetables etc.
Any sale that goes through we have to pay 20% VAT.
We can not increase prices as it is a deterrent.
For restaurant owners with high utility bills and wages this will result to more closures.
Restaurant owners pay corporate tax, PAYE, VAT and income tax.
Please this will effect the future of restaurant buisness drastically.
