What the petition asks
Allow birthing partners to be there for the mother of the child to be for support.
Women are going in to hospital to give birth alone some women have severe anxiety and need extra support from there birthing partners but this is happening to late at the moment fathers are missing the birth of there children
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
Decisions about who can attend scans and births are a matter for the NHS, not the UK Government or House of Commons.
On 5 June, the NHS’s suspension of hospital visiting was lifted. This means that visiting is now subject to local discretion by trusts and other NHS bodies. You should check with your maternity team and sonography unit for their policy on visitors attending births.
