Extend the Freedom of Information Act to cover Members of Parliament

What the petition asks
Members of Parliament hold positions of public office, and therefore their operations whilst serving their constituents should be transparent as a matter of legitimate interest to the public.
As an elected representative in parliament, MPs should be held to the same standards as other public offices and arms of Government. The Government should therefore extend the Freedom of Information Act to cover MPs, so that they are obliged to respond to requests for information, in line with the requirements of this Act.
