What the petition asks
As it is now widely accepted that a virus can have long term debilitating effects, a review of how ME sufferers are treated, who have a far wider range of symptoms that can be lifelong is needed.
Medical professionals often display ignorance and scepticism and getting financial help from the DWP is utterly hellish and the often applicants have to give up as they are so ill.
As long covid subjects have been given a raft of help and support and public sympathy, it is time to end the entrenched prejudice that blights ME sufferers.
