Impose mandatory 10-year custodial sentences for all child sexual abuse offences

What the petition asks
The Government should set minimum mandatory custodial sentences of at least 10 years for all child sexual abuse convictions, with convicts also being automatically on the sexual register for life, and having a sexual harm prevention order for life.
After going through the court process for my own historical child sexual abuse and rape I was lucky enough that my abuser got a 12-year sentence. But after much research and conversations with other survivors, many of whom have never reported their own abuse, I have found that many abusers are given what others would consider lenient sentences of 2-5, years which is nothing compared to the length of time victims suffer and what victims suffer mentally, physically and emotionally. Lives are wrecked all round.
