Allow hospitality venues to sell takeaway alcohol
Rejected
21 signatures
What the petition asks
We call the Government to reverse their decision in the new National Restrictions from 5 November to prevent the sale of takeaway alcohol from hospitality venues like restaurants, bars and pubs.
Many hospitality businesses around the country will see their income considerably reduced whilst others will have no income at all. Wet led pubs have not benefited from VAT reduction on food or the Eat out to Help out Scheme and this measure will see the closure of many of our favourite community pubs.
Why it was rejected
The UK Government or Parliament was already taking the action it asked for.
Since you started your petition the new regulations that have been put in place allow licensed premises to sell alcohol provided this is pre-ordered by the customer: https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2020/1200/pdfs/uksi_20201200_en.pdf
