Grant Indefinite Leave to Remain to British citizens’ long-term partners/spouses

What the petition asks
The partners or spouses of British citizens should automatically qualify for Indefinite Leave to Remain after they have been with their partner for 20 years – without the need to pay additional fees or pass the Life in the UK test.
My husband (Turkish) and I (British) have been married 28 years. My husband has a Biometric Resident Permit but has to stay in the UK 180 days of the year. He will later apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain but this means paying another £1,500, and taking English exams and the Life in the UK Test. He cannot visit his (British) daughters who live in Turkey as and when he wants with his current residency status. This is not right given how long we have been married and living in the UK.
