Include schools in second lockdown, use that time to make them COVID-secure

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

Follow the recommendations of the National Education Union, and include schools and universities in England's second lockdown, using that time to make them COVID-secure.
Without including schools and universities in the second lockdown, infections are likely to only plateau, or at best fall slowly. With them closed, infections are likely to fall quickly, like they did during the first lockdown.

Without making schools COVID-secure, infections will rise again as soon as lockdown ends. Transmission in those aged under 25 caused the second wave, and will cause a third wave if nothing is done to stop it happening again.
