Allow sales of takeaway alcohol by licensed premises during lockdown in Nov 2020

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

Allow licensed premises to sell takeaway alcohol during the November 2020 lockdown.
It was permitted previously and can be managed in a socially distant manner. It disadvantages pubs against supermarkets and will lead to unnecessary pub closures.

Why it was rejected

The UK Government or Parliament was already taking the action it asked for.

The new regulations that have been put in place for the current lockdown allow licensed premises to sell alcohol provided this is pre-ordered by the customer: https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2020/1200/pdfs/uksi_20201200_en.pdf
