What the petition asks
Keep sports clubs open over lockdown for the wellbeing and fitness of children and members
While schools remain open, the extra curricular activities outside of school are being forced to close.
For some, these activities are a sanctuary in which they can escape from the difficulties of everyday life, for others these clubs and sports are paramount to their mental health and wellbeing. To have these taken away will cause a lot of stress and anxiety for many.
Clubs, under continuous guidance from governing bodies, have been operating very successfully in a COVID secure way.

Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action. We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.
Since you started your petition, the national lockdown has ended. You could start a new petition calling for changes to the current tiered restrictions, if that's what you'd like to see happen.
