Class gyms as essential, allow them to stay open during UK lockdowns.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

We would like the UK Government to class gyms & leisure facilities as ‘essential’ in regards to the COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns.
This means they will be able to remain open, adhering to safety guidelines, throughout this, and any future UK lockdowns.
The health of the nation is of the upmost importance during a pandemic. The health benefits of exercising - both physical and mental - are astronomical. Taking these facilities away from the public who rely on them for their physical & mental well-being will decrease the overall health of the nation, which will lead to an increased strain on the NHS & more lives will be unnecessarily lost.
Gyms are safe to open. Your nation needs its gyms. Keep them open. Keep your nation healthy.
