Require environmental impact information on food packaging

What the petition asks
Changing your diet can also reduce your carbon footprint. Providing more information about the environmental impact of the food we eat could change consumption habits and would incentivise innovation in food production.
Food items have a climate footprint, like anything else. With growing fears of what our impact on the environment is, I feel that the consumer needs more information on how their purchasing habits affect the world around them in addition to how it will affect their health. Adding climate footprint labelling (like a ‘climate impact’ traffic light model), in addition to the current nutritional information, will go some way to doing so.
