Petition · past parliament
Give discount leisure fees to over 60s who Are members of sport or gym clubs
Rejected
12 signatures
What the petition asks
I want the government to recognise that a large amount of the population over 60 keep fit and healthy but do not get any membership discount. We are helping the nhs and should be rewarded
Because it would encourage olde people to join sport or leisure clubs and therefore reduce the burden on the welfare star and nhs
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
The Government is not responsible for discounts provided by gyms or leisure centres, this is a matter for individual gyms or leisure centres.
We could accept a petition calling for the Government to fund gyms or leisure centre memberships for over 60s, because of the associated health benefits this could bring.
