Close all schools one week earlier than planned at Xmas
Rejected
14 signatures
What the petition asks
All schools in England (and Wales, Scotland and N. Ireland with their agreement) should close one week prior to their published date.
During this current lockdown teachers have been asked to keep all schools open in order to protect childrens education, and allow parents to continue working. This is taking a significant toll on the physical and mental health of these dedicated staff. By early December they will be on their knees!! Lets ensure that teachers and other school staff know that we care about their wellbeing as well as that of the pupils they teach.
Why it was rejected
There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.
You may wish to sign this petition calling for a similar action: Implement a two week school lockdown before 24 December to save Christmas
School closures in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland would be a matter for the devolved administrations, not the UK Government or House of Commons.
