Close garden centres during second national lockdown

Why should garden centres stay open when it is non-essential retail? The employees are being put at risk unnecessarily. They cannot mix with their own family or friends, yet they are expected to be around all of their work colleagues, plus potentially hundreds of customers everyday. Garden centres are not essential retail and the excuse that they should stay open for people’s “wellbeing” is ridiculous. What about the garden centre employees? It is not better for their well-being.
