Keep gyms open for emergency services
Rejected
16 signatures
What the petition asks
The Government must grant dispensation to keep gyms in Police stations, Fire stations (and other emergency roles) open for the sake of public safety.
Police and Fire station gyms are being forced to close due to the national lockdown. In these safety critical roles where fitness is not only important but life saving this is an serious oversight. We have already seen over the past few weeks the worst case scenario first responders can face and this lockdown is poised to tie one hand behind their back.
Why it was rejected
The UK Government or Parliament was already taking the action it asked for.
The national lockdown in England ended on 2 December. Under the new local restrictions tiers, gyms can remain open in all tiers, with some restrictions on indoor group activities in areas in the highest risk tier (tier 3).
