Keep music schools open through COVID19 restrictions

What the petition asks
The government should recognise music schools as an important part of the education sector and allow them to continue operating and providing face-to-face education to their students, through both national and local lockdown restrictions, whilst adhering to all necessary safety guidelines.
They provide a standard of education unmatched by large-scale teaching - these students go on to form our community’s arts & entertainment scenes.
This ‘extracurricular’ learning is vital, enabling children to engage in subjects where they can flourish - particularly those with developmental disorders.
Learning an instrument is a lifeline for many. It motivates and engages us, keeping our minds and bodies active.
By shutting these educational facilities, we are depriving people of an education.
