Make all fireworks silent.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

Legislate to make all fireworks silent. Fireworks don't need to make loud noises to be enjoyed. The natural "whoosh" of a rocket or Catherine Wheel is fine, but remove the artificial pop, bang, explosion from all fireworks sold in the UK.
Many of the problems with fireworks would be solved if they were silent. This petition recognises the tradition of fireworks (eg Bonfire Night, weddings, Diwali), but seeks to minimize the impact on wildlife, farm animals, domestic pets, horses, and late night disturbance.

Why it was rejected

There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.

You may wish to sign this petition calling for a similar action: Review and reduce the decibel limit on fireworks sold to the public

While some fireworks are marketed as silent, these still make some noise. If you would like the Government to reduce the decibel limit to a specific level, you could start a new petition requesting this.

We have also published the following petitions, which you might like to sign:

Limit the Sale and Use of Fireworks to Organisers of Licensed Displays Only: Limit the Sale and Use of Fireworks to Organisers of Licensed Displays Only
