Allow business that can operate safely during the Covid-19 pandemic to do so!

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

The government should allow all indoor and outdoor businesses to open, as long as they can demonstrate their ability to provide a Covid-safe environment.During the pandemic, there have been times when gyms, pubs and restaurants have been allowed to open, but not other venues able to prevent the
spreadof Covid19 just aswell, if not better. The government should eliminate this inconsistency and should treat each case individually, as businesses in the same sector may differ in their capacity to meet the requirements.Even in highrisk areas many businesses that have been forced to close could be allowed to operate as long asthey comply infull with the government safeguards. This would save jobs and boost tax revenue. Businesses need the government to work with them rather than against them.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you are concerned about businesses being required to close during Covid-19, but it's not clear exactly how your request would work.

We have published a number of petitions calling on the Government to allow different types of business to reopen, which you might like to sign. You can view all open petitions relating to coronavirus here: https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions?state=open&topic=covid-19
