Require all teachers to be trained in the use of makaton

Makaton is a key way that many children need to use to communicate their physical and emotional needs. They need it to feel heard, to help them to learn.

Many parents I have spoken to say that makaton is not used in their child's mainstream school, even though it's so easy and quick to learn even babies of six months old can be taught it.

The Government should enable children who have communication challenges to be able to use this in school, by requiring all teachers to be trained in its use.
