Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the UK Government or House of Commons to take a specific action.

We understand that you are concerned about lack of support for people who have long-term ill effects following illness from Covid-19, but it's not clear what you want the Government to do about this.

People who are employed and unable to work due to illness are likely to be entitled to Statutory Sick Pay. People who are not employed but unable to work may be entitled to support under Universal Credit or other benefits.

We have published the following petition, which you might like to sign:

Fund full sick pay for employees that are off work due to COVID: Fund full sick pay for employees that are off work due to COVID

We could accept a petition calling for additional support to be provided to people who have been affected by Covid-19, but it would need to be clear what support you want to be provided, and who to.
