End Deer Culls in Royal Parks
Rejected
21 signatures
What the petition asks
Make it illegal to cull deer by shooting in Royal Parks
Shooting deer on Royal Parks grounds causes suffering not only to the deer, but to the wildlife populations in the surrounding environment. Royal Parks should not be using their grounds to raise deer and then sell them for meat. They should adopt humane methods of managing deer populations- or phase them out completely.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
Royal Parks is now independent of the UK government, so decisions about operational matters such as the culling of deer is a matter for the Royal Parks, not the Government or House of Commons.
