Petition · past parliament

Allow OUTDOOR areas of zoos, animal parks etc to re-open with social distancing.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

To once again allow OUTDOOR areas of zoos, aquariums, wildlife parks and animal welfare charities to remain open and generate vital income with the assurance that robust cleaning regimes, mask wearing and social distancing measures are in place as is the case in public parks and outdoor spaces.
Animal care/feeding/treatment/upkeep continues during a pandemic and the need to generate income is critical to survival. Zoos play a vital role in conservation in the UK and around the world. Institutions spend millions annually funding conservation that helps to preserve the habitats and numbers of critically endangered animals. This crucial conservation and zoo animals lives have once again been put under threat by the re-closure of zoos with many again facing closure due to lack of income.
