What the petition asks
There is a planned expansion to the A303 and it is the duty of the government to prevent this and additional protections to prevent future development of the site need to be applied to the area and keep it safe as site of religious and historic significance.
Stone Henge is an important, world-renown cultural heritage site; a religious pilgrimage site; and a tourist attraction that draws millions of visitors (1.6 million in 2016). It is one of the few druidic sites of significance left and is of historical significance.
The site needs protecting, a dual carriageway running through the area will ruin the site for everyone visiting!
