Change proceeds of crime act to protect people who are rehabilitated

Rejected 16 signatures

What the petition asks

To look into the proceeds of crime act and change some of the law. People who are rehabilitated and can prove all their earnings in life after sentence are honest should be left alone to live an honest life. If proof can be provided from earnings this should be left alone and not pursued

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. Sentencing decisions are a matter the courts. We could accept a petition that asked for specific changes to the law, but we're not sure what it is you want to change.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
