Ban use of recoverable/reversible stun methods for livestock

What the petition asks
Ban the use of the recoverable/reversible stun for livestock and require the use of the full captive bolt stun. This ensures total unconsciousness throughout the slaughter process.
The recoverable/reversible stun is widely used but many people, including vets, believe this practice to be cruel. Farm animals used for our meat are sentient beings, they have feelings including pain. If certain methods of stunning animals that allow the animal to recover are used animals may regain consciousness before they are killed. Why should animals be subjected to a vile barbaric death? This does not happen with the captive bolt stun which should surely be the preferred method of slaughter.
