What the petition asks

WE WANT YOU TO STOP TAXING DRIVERS
UK DRIVERS ARE TAXED ENOUGH. WE PAY TAX ON FUEL, ROAD TAX, DUTY ON FUEL IS PAID BY THE DRIVERS, AND WE ALREADY PAY BY THE MILE TO DRIVE THROUGH BUYING FUEL. WE HAVE HAD ENOUGH OF BEING TARGETED EVERYTIME SOMETHING HAPPENS INCLUDING THE BUDGET. WE DO NOT WANT TO BE TAXED ON ANYTHING ELSE ENOIGH IS ENOUGH. THIS WILL BREAK A LOT OF PEOPLE LIKE NURSES DRS CARE WORKERS DISABLED VISITORS AND MORE

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the UK Government to tax a specific action.

We understand that you are concerned about the impact of taxes on taxi drivers, but it's not clear what you want the UK Government or House of Commons to do about this.

There is no system in the UK for taxing tax drivers, or other road users, by distance travelled. It has been suggested that the UK Government might bring in a system of road pricing to replace lost revenues from fuel duty as there are more ULEVs, but the details of this policy have not yet been announced and there has been no indication that such a policy would only apply to taxi drivers.

If you want the Government to commit to not introducing a system of road pricing, we could accept a petition requesting this.
