Repeat Small business rates relief grant for the second Covid 19 lock down.

Rejected 14 signatures

What the petition asks

A grant was given to small businesses which complied with certain criteria, ie are eligible for business rates relief on premises. Helping keeping them afloat by coving rent, bills etc while work is slow or none existant due to lock downs impossed to stop the spread of COVID 19.

Repeat the grant.
The initial grant was made to cover the initial lock down (3 weeks at the time) in March.

Small businesses have to repeat the struggle without a repeat of the help.

It is therefore asked that the grant is repeated for each subsequent lock down.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. The rate relief covers the whole of the 2020/21 financial year already. You can find out more here:

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
