What the petition asks

Create a law requiring festival organisers to house a drug testing facility on site, offering a service to festival goers to test the safety and contents of their drugs, as well as providing information and support on safe usage. Whilst ensuring that confidentiality will be respected.

Between 2016-2019 at least five people died from drug overdoses at UK festivals. Despite the use of recreational drugs being illegal, it’s inevitable they will be present and used in festivals. Drugs have been a facet of rave, festival & music culture, & with the festival industry becoming more widespread, the audience it attracts is becoming younger. This said, younger people are experimenting with drugs without any knowledge of safe usage, subsequently causing fatality.
