Cap number of pharmacy students due to oversupply of registered UK pharmacists

Closed 468 signatures

What the petition asks

The UK government should not allow any further increase in the number of pharmacy schools and Mpharm degree, as oversaturation of pharmacists’ profession are unfair to prospective students whom, after the graduation, will find themselves in a very uncertain & oversaturated career.
There are some real shortages in other health related professions, such as nursing, which makes it necessary for the UK government to persuade universities to provide courses within line with the present and future health demand.Every year in UK,it becomes harder for newly qualified and registered pharmacists (especially as community pharmacists) to secure jobs deserved for such a profession. It has even become harder for locum community pharmacists to find shifts and have a decent monthly income!
